Parking can be a bit tricky around here – it’s city center, so that’s just Belgrade for you – but the staff actually knows the area well enough to point you toward spots that aren’t tourist traps.

What really gets me about this place is the attention to those little things that most four-star hotels somehow miss. The rooms feel lived-in rather than showroom-perfect, if that makes sense. Good lighting for actually reading (not just Instagram photos), proper blackout curtains that work, and – this might sound weird – but the beds are exactly the right height. You know how some hotel beds are so high you need a running start, or so low you feel like you’re camping? These just work. The breakfast setup is solid too, though I’d skip it on weekends when it gets crowded and head to one of the kafanas nearby instead. There’s this little place around the corner that does better coffee anyway, and half the charm of staying in Stari Grad is wandering around discovering these spots. The staff here seems to get that – they’re not pushing their restaurant or trying to keep you locked in the hotel bubble. They’ll actually tell you where locals eat, which says something about their confidence in what they’re offering.

Honestly, if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re experiencing Belgrade rather than just visiting it, this is your spot. It’s sophisticated enough that you feel a bit fancy coming back after a day of exploring, but relaxed enough that you can sprawl out with a bottle of rakija from the corner shop without feeling like you’re breaking some unspoken hotel etiquette. The whole Parlament area has this energy – busy during the day with people actually living their lives, then settling into this lovely evening rhythm where you hear conversations drifting from apartment balconies and the occasional tram rumbling by. It’s Belgrade as it actually is, not the sanitized version some hotels try to create around themselves.
