You know what struck me first about Decanska Apartments? The building itself – it’s got this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the Stari Grad vibe without trying too hard. I mean, you’re literally on Dečanska Street, which honestly feels like one of those addresses that sounds fancy but is actually super livable. The entrance doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which I actually loved because it made me feel like I was staying somewhere locals might actually choose.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – and I say surprisingly because Belgrade accommodation can be hit or miss in terms of space. What really got me was the attention to detail in the finishes. The kitchenettes are actually functional (not just for show), and the bathrooms have that satisfying weight to the fixtures that makes you think someone cared about quality. I stayed on the third floor and barely heard street noise, which is saying something since this part of Belgrade can get lively, especially on weekends. The Wi-Fi was solid too – worked perfectly for video calls, which honestly isn’t always a given even in four-star places.
Location-wise, you’re in the heart of everything without being in the chaos of it. Knez Mihailova is maybe a seven-minute walk, but you’re tucked away enough that you won’t have crowds of tourists wandering past your window at midnight. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens stupidly early – perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag and want fresh burek at 6 AM. The staff seemed to know the neighborhood really well too; they pointed me toward this tiny restaurant on Skadarlija that I never would have found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, no awkward waiting around, and they actually seemed happy to see guests rather than just going through the motions. I did notice the elevator is one of those classic European tiny ones – fine for two people with luggage, but if you’re traveling with a big group, someone’s taking the stairs. The 9.2 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without any flashy nonsense. You get a proper apartment feel with hotel-level service, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to settle into a city like Belgrade for more than just a quick weekend.

The location is great, 2 minutes to city centar. The appartment is cosy, very comfortable and clean.
What could be improved: The noise from the main street due to its location and closeness to the city centar. The wifi internet was on and then off.

What could be improved: Garbage should be collected every 1-2 days. Towels should be replaced after 2 days
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment for all three days of our visit. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, always available to help whenever we needed assistance. The location is perfect—right in the city center, yet peaceful and quiet. We stayed in apartment B304, and everything inside was new and exceptionally clean. We truly appreciated the hospitality and will definitely return from Norway to stay here again. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable!
What could be improved: We have absolutely no complaints or anything negative to say about our stay. Everything was perfect, from the hospitality of the owners to the cleanliness and comfort of the apartment. We truly enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back!

Everything was excellent. The appartment is good positioned so you can easily walk to all downtown attractions. Very comfortable and clean rooms. There are pharmacy, supermarket, exchange office and bakery nearby. Communication with host Jovan was perfect.

What could be improved: The shower in the room is leaking - when switching between the upper and lower nozzles, water still flows from both.
Very nice apartment that has everything one could need, including some cooking utensils. Jovan the host is very friendly and will help out if there are any problems or questions. I very much enjoyed my stay at Decanska apartments and would absolutely book this place again if I come back to Belgrade in the future.
Jovan, the host was amazing. He put more then great effort to help us and accomodate us in the best possible manner. It was truly pleasent experience and Jovan deserves all the best refferences for his amazing work and kindiness.
What could be improved: Problems with the internet. It was so anoying, so hard to deal with the very slow, very bad, and very many complications regarding to the properties internet. Jovan was greatly helping with the problems related to the internet however, I have still missed a very important business meeting regarding the issues with the internet.
