Level Luxury Suites

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Level Luxury Suites when I first walked up to the building on Nusiceva Street – it’s tucked into this quieter corner of Stari Grad that feels more residential than touristy. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. The location is pretty perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Belgrade rather than just visiting it. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Knez Mihailova (the main pedestrian street), but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The building itself has that classic Belgrade architecture – solid, unpretentious, but with these nice modern touches once you get inside.

The suites are where this place really shines, and I mean that in the most practical way possible. These aren’t just hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in – they’re actually designed like someone might live there for a week or two. The living areas have real furniture (not those weird hotel chairs that look nice but hurt your back), and the kitchens are properly equipped. I actually cooked breakfast a few times, which never happens when I travel, but the Maxi market on Dunavska Street is right there, and honestly, Serbian produce is incredible. The bedrooms are spacious without being cavernous, and the bathrooms – well, let’s just say the water pressure is excellent, which anyone who’s traveled through the Balkans will appreciate. One small thing though: the air conditioning can be a bit loud at night, but it works well, and Belgrade summers are no joke.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff treated me like a neighbor rather than a guest. When I mentioned I was looking for a good kafana (traditional restaurant), the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a tourist brochure – he actually walked outside with me and pointed toward Kosančićev Venac, explaining which places locals go to and which ones are tourist traps. That kind of insight is worth its weight in gold. The whole Stari Grad area is walkable, so you can easily hit up the Belgrade Fortress, wander through the bohemian Skadarlija district, or just sit in one of the many parks along the Danube. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s a garage nearby, and street parking isn’t the nightmare I expected it to be. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Belgrade, but it nails the basics while giving you that authentic neighborhood experience. If you’re the type who likes having your own space but wants to be in the heart of things, this is your spot.
