You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name says “Airport view Apartment” and I was honestly expecting some generic crash pad where you’d just sleep off jet lag before catching your next flight. But man, I was completely wrong about this one. It’s actually tucked away on Njegoševa street in Surčin, and while yeah, you can see the airport from some windows, it feels more like a proper neighborhood spot than some sterile airport hotel.

The thing is, Surčin isn’t really on most tourists’ radar – it’s sort of this quiet suburb about 20 minutes from Belgrade’s center, but that’s exactly what makes it work. You get that authentic Serbian residential vibe without the chaos of downtown, and honestly, the locals here are incredibly friendly. There’s this little bakery maybe two blocks down that does these amazing burek pastries in the morning (trust me on this one), and the whole area has this lived-in feel that I really appreciated. The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious – like, actually spacious, not just “spacious for Europe” – with these big windows that let in tons of light. The furnishing is modern without being cold, and I loved that they had proper blackout curtains because, well, planes do take off pretty regularly and those landing lights can be bright at night.

What really sold me though was how quiet it actually gets. I mean, you’d think being near the airport would be a nightmare for sleep, but the sound insulation is genuinely good, and most of the air traffic dies down after 11 PM anyway. The host was incredibly responsive too – I had some confusion about the building entrance (it’s one of those newer apartment complexes where all the buildings look identical), and they walked me through it over WhatsApp with photos and everything. Parking was dead simple, which if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere in central Belgrade, you’ll appreciate. The 9 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury luxury, everything just… works. The WiFi is fast, the shower has proper pressure, the kitchen has actual cooking supplies if you want to hit up the local market. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I had an early flight or just wanted to experience Belgrade from a more residential angle rather than the typical tourist trail.
