ZigZag Belgrade
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first walked up to ZigZag Belgrade on Maršala Birjuzova – the street's pretty quiet and residential, which actually turned out to be one of the best things about this place.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to ZigZag Belgrade on Maršala Birjuzova – the street’s pretty quiet and residential, which actually turned out to be one of the best things about this place. You’re tucked away from the chaos of downtown but still close enough that you can walk to Republic Square in about fifteen minutes (or grab one of those orange city buses that locals use). The building itself has this understated modern vibe that somehow fits perfectly with the old Belgrade architecture around it.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually know the city, you know? Not just the tourist spots everyone mentions, but they pointed me toward this little kafana called Tri Šešira that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I asked about getting to Skadarlija, the guy at reception drew me a route that avoided the main crowds. The rooms are clean and well-thought-out – nothing flashy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed. The Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner (tested it, because I’m obsessive about that), and the beds are firm without being rock-hard. I mean, the bathroom’s on the smaller side, but it’s got good water pressure and stays warm, so I’m not complaining.
The breakfast spread is solid – proper Serbian cheese and kajmak alongside the usual continental stuff, plus they make decent coffee, which matters more than people realize when you’re jet-lagged. What I loved most was the neighborhood itself. Maršala Birjuzova connects you to both the old town feel and the more modern parts of Belgrade without being stuck in either tourist bubble. There’s a grocery store literally two blocks away (Maxi, if you’re wondering), and you’ll hear church bells from Saint Mark’s in the morning, but it’s never loud enough to wake you up. The whole area feels like actual Belgrade rather than tourist Belgrade, if that makes sense. Parking can be tricky on the street, but they’ve got arrangements that work out fine if you ask ahead. September through November is probably when you’ll get the best rates and weather, though summer has its own energy here. For what you’re paying – and given that rating of 9 isn’t just marketing fluff – ZigZag Belgrade delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any pretense about being something it’s not.

She made sure I had everything I needed and the communication was seamless, and she was always available to answer any questions. I highly recommend Jasmina's apartment to anyone visiting Belgrade. Thank you, Jasmina, for making my stay so enjoyable!"

This is my third time in Belgrade, and I stayed at Zigzag in all my visits. I love here. I love the spirit of the apartments, plus location, design, comfort. Also the person, whom we were in contact, was very helpful and fabulous. It was a holiday for my birthday, even they gave me a gift, which makes me so thankful. I can't wait to come again.
What could be improved: There's nothing that I didn't like.
Place, communication
My family and I stayed at the apartment for 2 nights. We rented the 2 bedroom apartment with the balcony.
The apartment was cosy, super clean, modern, equipped with all facilities, comfortable, easy accessible and central. It gives a very 'homely' feeling.
Near the apartment one can find a public car park, a small supermarket, restaurants and shops.
I highly recommend the apartment!
Thank you to the wonderful and lovely hostess for making our stay a remarkable one! We will definitely visit Belgrade again and stay here!
Thank you xx
