There’s a great kafana literally around the corner where locals actually eat (not just tourists taking Instagram photos), and if you need groceries or random supplies, there’s a small market two blocks down toward the Danube. The staff seems to get that most people staying here want to explore the real city, not just hit the obvious spots. They’ll point you toward the good stuff – like which days the farmers market on Zeleni Venac is worth visiting, or how to avoid the crowds at Belgrade Fortress by going early morning or late afternoon.

Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of town (honestly, it’s tricky everywhere in central Belgrade), but they’ve sorted out arrangements with a nearby garage, which saves you from driving in circles looking for street spots. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be some flashy luxury hotel, but everything works the way it should, the location is genuinely useful, and you feel like you’re staying somewhere that respects both the building’s history and what modern travelers actually need. Plus, Belgrade’s still one of those cities where your money goes pretty far, so getting this level of quality and location without breaking the bank feels like getting away with something.
