The name alone tells you something about the owners’ connection to this neighborhood, and honestly, they’ve nailed the location. Strahinjica Bana is one of those streets that perfectly captures old Belgrade’s charm without being too touristy. You’re literally steps from Skadarlija (which gets crazy busy at night, but in a fun way), and the Danube riverfront is just a short walk down the hill. I mean, you can actually hear the gentle hum of the city from your room, but it’s never overwhelming – more like Belgrade’s natural soundtrack.
What struck me most was how the place feels authentically local while still being polished enough for that 4-star rating. The building itself has that pre-war Belgrade character – you know, thick walls and high ceilings that keep things cool even during those brutal July heat waves. Check-in was refreshingly smooth, and the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give proper recommendations beyond the usual tourist traps. They pointed me toward a fantastic little kafana just around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms themselves are thoughtfully designed – not trying too hard to be modern, but comfortable in that understated European way. The bed was honestly one of the better ones I’ve encountered in Belgrade, and the bathroom had proper water pressure (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in older buildings here).
What really sets this place apart is how it sits in Dorćol – this historic quarter that’s becoming increasingly hip but hasn’t lost its soul yet. You’ll wake up to the sounds of the neighborhood coming alive: coffee shops opening, people chatting on their way to work, maybe some construction in the distance (it’s Belgrade, after all). The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or trying to be something it’s not, but everything just works. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, though they’ll help you figure it out. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real Belgrade neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. Plus, when you tell locals you’re staying near Strahinjica Bana, they’ll nod approvingly – it means you know what you’re doing.

Accommodation was at a great location, you can walk everywhere from there. The host was friendly and gave us a lot of recommendation for activities around the city, and was available for any inquiries.
What could be improved: Dishes in the kitchen were dirty, and we did not have kitchen towels.
The location of the apartment is very central, I was able to walk everywhere. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very cozy. The host, Bratza, was incredibly helpful and gave excellent recommendations for getting to know the city. Thanks for everything.
Perfect location, close to loads of restaurants, bars, the big park in the city, plus the host is lovely person and very helpful, showing us where to park for free and helping us sort out street parking to unload the car. Very convenient, fully functional kitchen, air conditioner unit works great.

The apartment is in a great neighbourhood in the center, close to all interesting landmarks - everything in the old city is reachable in 10-15 min walk. Belgrade is a wonderful city to visit- clean, live, full of events, charming cafes and amazing restaurants, and the apartment is a great starting point to enjoy all. It has a fully equiped kitchen and a bedroom with a large double bed and a sofa. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Everything was clean and well organized. Our host was very kind, explained to us everything we needed to know. He also helped us with the parking, which is an issue in Belgrade as any capital. The apartment is on the 4th floor, but there is an elevator. We will definitely come back.

The host was kind and friendly. He informed us about the city. The apartment was clean and on a great location. There are a lot of cafes, markets and bars close so we could go everywhere by foot. Also a very good touch was the free parking which is rare to find in Belgrade. Great experience, we would visit again soon for sure!
