The building sits right on Prizrenska Street in Stari Grad, which means you’re literally in the heart of old Belgrade without the tourist trap feeling. I mean, you can walk to Skadarlija in about three minutes (that’s the bohemian quarter with all the traditional restaurants), but you’re also close enough to hear the occasional tram rumbling by – though it’s never loud enough to wake you up.

What really got me was the attention to detail in these apartments. The kitchens actually have proper equipment – not those sad little hot plates you usually find in short-term rentals. I ended up cooking a few meals because, honestly, the local market on Zeleni Venac is just a short walk away and the produce is incredible. The bathrooms have this heated floor situation that I didn’t even know about until I stepped on it barefoot one morning – small touch, but it’s those things that make you feel like someone actually thought about comfort. The WiFi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely or just want to research where to eat next without buffering every five seconds.

The neighborhood is what really makes this place work, though. Stari Grad isn’t trying to be trendy – it just is. You’ve got these little kafanas tucked into side streets where locals actually go (not just tourists), and the fortress is close enough for evening walks when you want to watch the sunset over the confluence. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and while some places felt a bit dead, this area kept its energy. The building itself is quieter than you’d expect for being so central – I think it’s because Prizrenska isn’t a main thoroughfare, so you get the location without the constant traffic noise. Check-in was smooth, no drama, and the person who met me actually gave me a hand-drawn map with their favorite spots marked. I mean, who does that anymore? Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – it’s street parking mostly – but honestly, you don’t need a car staying here. The rating of 8.8 makes sense to me; it’s not perfect (the elevator is a bit creaky, and one of the windows in my unit didn’t close completely tight), but it delivers on what matters most: location, comfort, and that feeling like you’re living in Belgrade rather than just passing through it.
