The apartment itself is honestly better than I expected from the photos. It’s got that perfect balance of being authentically Belgrade without feeling like you’re roughing it – proper amenities, solid WiFi (which actually matters when you’re trying to figure out which kafana to hit for dinner), and the kind of comfortable bed that makes you forget you’re technically in a historic building. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re surrounded by restaurants and bars. The double windows do their job, but honestly, the gentle hum of Skadarlija settling down for the night is kind of soothing anyway. The hosts clearly know their stuff too – check-in was smooth, and they gave me the kind of local tips you can’t Google, like which bakery opens earliest (crucial information) and how to navigate the parking situation around Stari Grad without losing your mind.

Here’s the thing that makes this place special though – location aside, which is obviously incredible – it feels like staying in someone’s carefully curated Belgrade home rather than a generic rental. There are thoughtful touches everywhere, from the way the kitchen is stocked to the little details in the bathroom that show someone actually cares about the guest experience. And speaking of location, you’re maybe a two-minute walk from Tri Šešira, three minutes from the main pedestrian zone, and close enough to the Danube that you can easily walk down for morning coffee along the water. The 9 rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it nails exactly what it sets out to be. Plus, and this might sound silly, but there’s something pretty magical about having your morning coffee on Skadarska street before the tourists wake up, watching the street vendors set up and the restaurant owners start their day. It’s like getting a behind-the-scenes look at one of Belgrade’s most famous neighborhoods.
