Great terrace and we loved the complementary bottle of rakija in the hotel entrance. And the location was amazing.

Villa Skadarlija
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Skadarlija?
You know what caught me off guard about Villa Skadarlija? I was expecting just another boutique hotel trading on location, but this place actually gets it right. I mean, you’re literally on Skadarlija street – and if you don’t know, that’s Belgrade’s bohemian quarter where half the city comes to eat, drink, and pretend they’re artists. The cobblestones can be a bit murder on wheeled luggage (learned that the hard way), but honestly, the moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone put real thought into this place.
The building itself has that restored historic feel without being precious about it. My room overlooked the street, which meant I got the full Skadarlija experience – traditional music drifting up from the kafanas below, the clatter of evening crowds, all that authentic Belgrade energy. If you’re a light sleeper, maybe ask for a back room, but I’d actually recommend embracing the street-side location. You’re here for the neighborhood, right? The staff – and this surprised me – actually knew the area beyond just pointing you toward Turistička. They steered me to this tiny place called Zlatni Bokal that I never would’ve found otherwise, and they were spot-on about avoiding the weekend dinner rush at Tri Šešira (though go for drinks, absolutely).
What really won me over was how they handle the small stuff. Check-in was smooth even though I arrived stupidly early, the WiFi actually worked throughout the building, and they’ve got this little courtyard area that’s perfect for morning coffee before the neighborhood wakes up. The rooms feel genuinely comfortable rather than just Instagram-ready – good lighting, proper shower pressure, and they don’t blast you with air conditioning. Parking can be tricky in Stari Grad, but they’ve sorted that out too. I stayed in late spring when Belgrade gets lovely, and the whole experience just felt… effortless, I guess? Like they’ve figured out how to be a proper hotel without losing the character of being right in the heart of old Belgrade. That 9.1 rating isn’t just tourists being generous – this place delivers on what it promises, and in a neighborhood where you could easily phone it in and still fill rooms, that actually means something.

What could be improved: Nothing!
Perfect location, in the middle of the center of Belgrade.
The the contact prior to our stay was very good and the staff is very friendly.
What could be improved: Across the street is a nightclub, so be aware of that when you stay in the weekend.
Great place, great area. Value for money at the period we visited.
What could be improved: Just for getting better:
They didn 't change the bed sheets during our 5 night stay.
The room near the reception needs much better noise insulation.
Our stay at Villa Skadarlija was absolutely fantastic! We spent three unforgettable nights in the heart of Belgrade, enjoying the beautiful ambiance, comfortable accommodation, and the warm hospitality of the hosts. The location is perfect—everything is within walking distance, and Skadarlija adds a unique charm and authentic atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Nice gem in Belgrade
Nice hotel close to everything. Friendly staff, was there for 5 nights but would stay again. Comfy bed and plenty of space in the room.
In the heart of the city small cozy hotel. Big , charming room, very comfortable bed.
The hotel is extremely clean and smells nice. The shower and bed were very comfortable. The room was very warm, I didn't feel cold at all. location was very good. hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Since I was very pleased with the hotel, I recommended the hotel to a close friend of mine who would come to Belgrade after me. He proposed to his girlfriend and she was very pleased with the hotel. They also helped me call a taxi so I could go to the airport. If I come to Belgrade again, I would like to stay in this hotel. thank you for everything.
What could be improved: There was nothing I didn't like.
