You know how sometimes a place just feels right the moment you walk in? That’s exactly what happened here on Dečanska street – and I mean, being smack in the heart of Stari Grad doesn’t hurt either. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Republic Square, which is perfect if you want to grab coffee at one of those tiny places locals actually go to, not just the tourist traps.

The suites themselves are what really sold me though. I was expecting your typical European hotel room – cramped, maybe a bit dated – but these guys actually thought about how people live. The kitchen isn’t just for show (there’s a proper stovetop and everything), and the living area has this warm, lived-in feel that makes you want to order takeout from that Serbian place around the corner and just hang out. The bathroom’s got heated floors, which honestly saved my life during a particularly brutal February stay. Small detail, but when you’re walking around Belgrade’s cobblestones all day, it matters. The Wi-Fi is solid too – I was working remotely and never had issues, even during video calls.

What I really appreciate is how they handle the whole “luxury” thing without being pretentious about it. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and will point you toward Skadarlija if you want the full bohemian experience, or they’ll quietly suggest avoiding certain streets after dark (not that Belgrade’s dangerous, but you know how it is). Parking can be tricky in this part of town – I mean, it’s the old city center – but they’ve got arrangements with a garage nearby that takes the headache out of it. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you add up all these little things that show someone’s actually thinking about what travelers need. It’s not the cheapest option in Belgrade, sure, but when you’re staying somewhere that feels more like a really nice apartment than a hotel room, and you can walk to Kalemegdan Fortress in fifteen minutes while passing some of the city’s best restaurants along the way… well, it’s worth spending a bit more to not feel like you’re just another tourist passing through.
