It’s tucked right on Džordža Vašingtona street, literally a two-minute stumble from Skadarlija’s cobblestones, but somehow it doesn’t get the chaos that comes with being in the thick of Belgrade’s bohemian quarter. I mean, you’re close enough to hear the tamburica music drifting from Tri Šešira on weekend nights, but far enough that you’ll actually sleep.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home – and I honestly prefer that to those sterile hotel boxes. The owner clearly lives in Belgrade (or at least knows the city well) because there are these thoughtful touches everywhere. Proper coffee setup, not just some sad instant packets. Good lighting for reading, which sounds boring but trust me, matters after long days wandering around Kalemegdan. The cozy factor is real here – think worn-in comfortable rather than Instagram-perfect, though it photographs well enough if that’s your thing. What really sold it for me was the neighborhood vibe. Stari Grad gets crazy touristy down by the main Skadarlija strip, but this corner feels more like where locals actually hang out. There’s a fantastic bakery about fifty meters away that opens ridiculously early – perfect for grabbing burek before the fortress gets crowded. And honestly, the location works whether you’re the type who wants to bar-hop until 3am (Skadarlija literally never sleeps) or you prefer quieter explorations of the old town.

The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s not trying to be fancy – no doorman or marble lobby – but everything just works. Hot water, reliable wifi, and the kind of local recommendations that actually matter. The host seems to get that travelers want to experience Belgrade like people who live here, not just tick off tourist boxes. I’d definitely book this again, especially if you want that sweet spot between authentic neighborhood feel and easy access to everything that makes Belgrade compelling. Just don’t expect to find it easily on your first try – Belgrade’s street numbering can be… creative, let’s say.
