The floors creak just slightly when you walk around – nothing annoying, just that old building character you get in this part of the city. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep the original architectural details (those high ceilings, the window frames) while making everything actually functional for travelers. The kitchen has proper cookware if you want to hit up the local market, and the bathroom has decent water pressure, which honestly isn’t a given in older Belgrade buildings. I stayed here during a pretty busy summer weekend and it was surprisingly quiet at night – Zvezdara doesn’t have the same party crowd as Skadarlija or the city center, but you’re still only about fifteen minutes from Republic Square if you want to get into the action.

Here’s the thing about the 7.7 rating – it feels about right, and I actually appreciate that it’s not trying to be a perfect 10. The wifi can be spotty in the bedroom (works fine in the living area), and the shower is one of those European setups where you really need to keep the curtain tucked in or you’ll flood the bathroom floor. But these are the kind of minor quirks you’d deal with staying at a friend’s place, not dealbreakers. The check-in was smooth – they actually met me at the building since the entrance isn’t immediately obvious from the street. What I really loved was how they gave me actual neighborhood recommendations, not just the standard tourist spots. There’s this little bakery two blocks down that opens early and does amazing burek, and a grocery store that stays open late, which turned out to be super useful. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – street parking is possible but you’ll want to ask about the local rules. The building itself has that classic Belgrade apartment block feel, which I know isn’t for everyone, but if you want to experience the city like locals do rather than staying in some international hotel chain, this is exactly what you’re looking for.
