I mean, when couples are rating the location 9.3 out of 10, you know there’s something special about where you’ll be staying.
You know what really gets me about this spot? You’re literally in the real heart of Belgrade — not just tourist-brochure talk, but actually where locals hang out and life happens. Step outside and you’re minutes from Skadarlija, that bohemian quarter where the rakija flows and accordion music drifts from taverns. The fortress is practically around the corner, and Knez Mihailova pedestrian street is close enough that you’ll find yourself wandering there without even planning to. It’s the kind of location where you can explore on foot and stumble onto things you’d never find otherwise.
Now, XENIA2 isn’t trying to be a five-star palace, and that works in its favor. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable — nothing fancy, but everything you actually need after a day of exploring Belgrade’s winding streets. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, which is worth more than marble lobbies when you’re trying to figure out where locals eat or which kafana has the best live music tonight. Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard.
What I love about staying here is how quickly you feel like you’re part of the neighborhood rather than just passing through. There’s a restaurant practically next door where the owner remembers your coffee order by day three, and the morning bakery smell that drifts up from the street below — well, it’s better than any alarm clock. You’ll hear church bells from nearby Orthodox churches mixing with the sounds of daily life, and honestly, it’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a real feel for Belgrade.
The location score of 9.7 isn’t just numbers — it’s because you can walk to everything that matters in old Belgrade without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist bubble. Couples especially seem to get it, probably because there’s something romantic about wandering these old streets together and always having somewhere new to discover. You’re not just booking a place to sleep; you’re getting a front-row seat to one of Europe’s most underrated cities, right where the action is but without the noise and chaos of a major hotel district.

The host was very welcoming and kind, the apartment was exceptionally clean and spacious for the low price.

One of the best value for money stays I've ever had. I had some issues with the internet, TV, etc, but the owner was very helpful and helped out very quickly. I recommend this place.

What could be improved: When i was there tv wasn’t working. The owner offered to fix it immidiately, but since I cane only for one day I wasn’t that bothered. The owner doesn’t speak a very good English so the communication can be a bit tricky

Excellent location - supermarket with ATM 80m away!
The Host was very responsive and helpful especially since I was arriving to the location quite late (23:30). Plus, she called a taxi for me when I was checking out.
What could be improved: For some guests, being just below ground level and being exposed to some street noise could be a bother but it certainly wasn't for me as the space and privacy of the apartment more than compensated for this.
