I will say the shower pressure could be stronger, but that’s pretty standard for older Belgrade buildings, and it’s definitely not a dealbreaker.

What really sold me on this place is the neighborhood feel. Voždovac isn’t flashy – it’s where families live, where you’ll hear kids playing football in the courtyards and smell someone’s grandmother making sarma on Sunday afternoons. You’re about fifteen minutes from Slavija Square if you catch the right bus (and Belgrade’s public transport is actually decent once you figure it out), but you’re also close enough to walk to some spots that most tourists never find. There’s this little kafana called Stara Kapija maybe ten minutes away where the locals go for proper ćevapi – no English menu, just point and hope for the best kind of place. The rating of 9.6 makes sense when you consider you’re getting authentic Belgrade living without the noise and chaos of the city center. Parking’s not impossible here either, which is saying something for Belgrade. Sure, you might have to circle the block once or twice, but you won’t be dealing with the nightmare that is trying to park near Knez Mihailova Street. The host was straightforward about check-in – none of that awkward key-passing dance you sometimes get with apartment rentals – and actually gave me a few local recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots.
