The host actually knows the neighborhood – gave me tips about which kafana has the best ćevapi nearby (it’s not the obvious one tourists hit) and warned me that parking can be tricky during market hours, which saved me some headaches. The apartment itself has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake – good linens, art that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel supply catalog, and a bathroom with water pressure that actually works. Small thing, but when you’ve been walking around Dorćol all afternoon in summer heat, you appreciate a proper shower.
