So I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Belgrade City Hotel on Savski trg, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building itself has this sort of understated elegance that you don’t always get with four-star places, you know? It’s not trying too hard to impress you right off the bat, which I actually appreciate. The location though – that’s where things get interesting. You’re literally steps away from the Sava riverfront, and I mean literally. Walk out the front door, cross the square, and you’re at the water watching those big river cruise ships dock.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually know Belgrade, not just the touristy stuff everyone mentions. The guy at reception told me about this little kafana tucked away on Dobračina Street that I never would’ve found otherwise – honestly one of the best meals I had in the city. The rooms are solid without being flashy; mine faced the square so there was some noise during the day (lots of trams rumbling by), but it quiets down after 10 PM or so. The beds are properly comfortable, and thank god the AC actually works – Belgrade summers can be brutal. I stayed in July and you could feel that Pannonian heat just radiating off the pavement outside.
Here’s the thing about this location that most people don’t realize until they’re there – you’re perfectly positioned between old and new Belgrade. Walk fifteen minutes toward Knez Mihailova and you’re in the thick of the pedestrian zone with all the cafes and street performers. But head the other direction toward New Belgrade and you’ve got those massive riverside clubs and the Ušće shopping center. Plus, and this matters if you’re dealing with luggage, the hotel is super easy to reach from the main train station. I watched people struggling with cobblestones in Stari Grad dragging their suitcases, while I just had a smooth five-minute walk on actual sidewalks. The breakfast spread is decent – nothing revolutionary, but they do proper Serbian cheese and ajvar alongside the usual European hotel fare. What I really appreciated was the coffee; it’s actually good, not that watery stuff you sometimes get. You can sit by the windows looking out at the square while people head to work, which gives you this nice sense of being part of the city’s rhythm rather than just observing it from the outside.

The place is great and easy to access by public transportation such as bus, trams, taxi. This is an old hotel but still considered okay for me.

It was in fact our second stay here - a year ago we just came from the street. So this time - I had no doubts which hotel to select. It's clean, it's quite, it's in the centre, with modest breakfast. We didn't use it but they have a parking.
What could be improved: We ordered 2+2 (with additional sofa bed for kids). Somehow on registration (about 4PM) the sofa was not made. They fixed it by our request, no problem, but at our own time expense as we were going to sleep after tiring flight - and kids were already asleep on unmade sofa, so we had to move them sleeping.
Also, they advertise Savamala restaurant within the hotel - but the fun is on Sundays it works till 3PM (yes). Don't know how it does the profit.
Good position and nice international breakfast for the standards of Serbia, room very clean and good for one people (for two definitely too small)
What could be improved: Dependance door little tricky too open for go in and out, gym very small and apparently not available if you don’t ask
Breakfast is good even though it's the same foodstuff but it's worth it for the price. The room is great, the location is in the city center and accessible by bus and train to Republic Square and other tourist spots. Hotel staffs are accommodating, and the housekeeping staffs are changing the towels and cleaning the room on a daily basis.
What could be improved: The toilet for the room which was assigned to us was really small. Same foodstuff everyday, they should change the variety of choices for breakfast on every other day basis.

What could be improved: I reserved parking spot and the hotel confirmed it but after the arrival they said that dont have enough space, Hotel has very small parking place only for circa 10 cars.
Central and clean place. Rooms in the main building are far much better than the ones in the secondary building.
Good location for our visit & very helpful staff
What could be improved: No lift in annex which wasn’t a problem for us but might be for others.
