It’s actually tucked away on this quiet residential street in Stari Grad, but you’re literally walking distance from everything that matters in Belgrade. I mean, Šafarikova isn’t one of those main drags tourists usually know about, which honestly works in your favor – you get the authentic neighborhood feel without the constant buzz of traffic and street vendors.

The building itself has this understated elegance that feels very Belgrade, if that makes sense. Not trying too hard to impress, but clearly someone put thought into the details. The suites are properly spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not that “European spacious” thing where you can barely open your suitcase). What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night – even with the windows open, you’re hearing neighborhood sounds, not city chaos. The staff knows their stuff too, which you don’t always get at four-star places. They actually suggested this fantastic little kafana just around the corner that I never would’ve found on my own, and honestly, it ended up being one of my best meals in the city.

Here’s the practical stuff that matters: parking isn’t a nightmare like it is near Knez Mihailova, and you can actually walk to Kalemegdan Park in about fifteen minutes if you don’t mind a gentle uphill stroll. The check-in was smooth – none of that “your room isn’t ready yet” nonsense even though I showed up early afternoon. What I really appreciated was how they handle the little things. The WiFi actually works throughout the building (shocking, I know), and there’s this small but well-stocked kitchenette situation that’s perfect if you want to grab some fresh bread and cheese from the market and have a proper breakfast instead of paying hotel prices. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works the way it should, and you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually recommend to their friends visiting from out of town.
