Everything’s been thoughtfully designed – I mean, there’s actually decent lighting for reading (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and the kitchen isn’t just for show. The bathroom has this amazing rainfall shower that I probably spent too much time in, and the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. What really got me though was the attention to small details… proper hangers in the closet, enough power outlets where you actually need them, blackout curtains that work. The kind of stuff that makes you realize someone who travels designed this place.

Location-wise, you’re about a ten-minute walk to Slavija Square, which puts you right in the heart of things, but the street itself is residential and quiet – I slept really well, even with the windows open. There’s a little kafana around the corner on Svetozara Markovića that locals actually go to (not just tourists), and you can walk to Kalemegdan Park easily. The tram stops right there on Kralja Milana if you want to explore further out, but honestly, most of Belgrade’s best spots are walkable from here. I noticed quite a few long-term residents in the building, which always feels like a good sign – means the neighborhood’s genuinely livable, not just designed for short stays.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the host actually gave useful recommendations rather than just handing over a generic list. They mentioned the best times to visit the fortress (early morning, before the crowds) and which local market to hit up. The WiFi is solid – I worked from there a couple days with no issues – and there’s air conditioning that actually works, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting in summer. The 9.8 rating honestly makes sense when you experience the place. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top luxury, it’s just really well-executed comfort in a spot that feels authentically Belgrade.
