The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that most European city centers just can’t deliver anymore, and there’s this attention to detail that you don’t expect from a four-star place. I’m talking about things like actually good water pressure (trust me, this matters after a day of walking Belgrade’s hills), proper blackout curtains for those summer nights when the sun doesn’t set until after 8 PM, and – this might sound weird – but the soundproofing is surprisingly solid considering you’re in such a central spot. Sure, you’ll hear some street life, especially on Friday nights when the whole neighborhood comes alive, but it’s more charming than disruptive.

The thing about staying here is that you end up living like a Belgrade local rather than just passing through as a tourist. Your morning coffee run takes you past the same fruit vendor who starts recognizing you by day three, and you’re close enough to Knez Mihailova that you can duck in and out of the pedestrian zone without it feeling like a major expedition. But honestly, what I loved most was being able to walk to Kalemegdan Fortress for sunrise – there’s something magical about having one of Europe’s most impressive fortress complexes as your neighborhood park. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward key-passing or complicated instructions that make you feel like you’re bothering someone.
