I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Sunkissed apartment” on the fourth floor of a building on Bulevar Peka Dapčevića, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit cheesy, doesn’t it? But you know what, it actually lives up to it. The morning light floods through those windows in a way that makes you want to grab your coffee and just sit there for way longer than you planned.

The thing about this place that really got me is how it sits right in the heart of Voždovac, which honestly feels like discovering Belgrade’s best-kept secret. You’re not dealing with the tourist chaos of Stari Grad, but you’re also not stuck in some soulless suburb. There’s this genuine neighborhood vibe – I mean, you’ve got local bakeries where the aunties behind the counter will remember your order after two visits, and that little green market just down the street where you can actually have conversations with vendors (well, if your Serbian’s up for it). The apartment itself has that lived-in comfort that makes you feel less like a visitor and more like you’re crashing at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste.

What really strikes me about staying here is how quiet it gets at night, despite being on a main boulevard. The fourth floor height helps with that – you get the energy of the street during the day but can actually sleep without earplugs. The space feels bigger than most Belgrade apartments I’ve been in, and there’s something about the way it’s laid out that just works. I spent a lot of evenings on that little balcony area, watching the neighborhood wind down, which sounds boring but was actually one of those unexpectedly perfect travel moments. Getting around from here is ridiculously easy too – you can catch buses that’ll get you to the city center in fifteen minutes, or if you’re feeling ambitious, it’s a pretty decent walk along the Danube. The host was one of those people who clearly knows their stuff without being pushy about it, gave me restaurant recommendations that were spot-on and warned me about construction noise (which thankfully wasn’t too bad during my stay). Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or Instagram-perfect design, but that 8.6 rating makes total sense when you factor in the genuine comfort, the neighborhood authenticity, and how it just lets you settle into Belgrade life rather than feeling like you’re observing it from the outside.
