Honestly, when I first saw “Neds Apt Inc” on my booking confirmation, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the name doesn’t exactly scream luxury hotel, you know? But walking into this place on Generala Štefanika completely changed my perspective. It’s one of those spots that gets everything right without making a big deal about it. The location in Voždovac is actually perfect if you want to experience Belgrade like locals do, rather than being stuck in the touristy Stari Grad bubble. You’re close enough to hop on public transport into the city center (maybe 15-20 minutes), but far enough out that you’ll hear birds in the morning instead of traffic and late-night revelers.

What really struck me was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about making your stay work. I mean, they didn’t just hand over keys and disappear – they actually took time to explain which bus routes make sense, where to grab proper Serbian breakfast nearby (there’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible burek), and even warned me that construction starts early on weekdays in the neighborhood. The rooms themselves feel more like staying in a well-appointed apartment than a hotel, which I guess makes sense given the name. Everything’s clean and modern, but not in that sterile way where you’re afraid to touch anything. The beds are actually comfortable – I’m talking real sleep, not that tossing-and-turning you get in some places.

You know what impressed me most though? The little details nobody thinks to mention in reviews. Like, the Wi-Fi actually works consistently (I was working remotely part of the time), there’s decent water pressure in the shower, and the windows have proper blackout curtains so you can sleep in if you want. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feeling – you’ll see families walking to school, old guys playing chess in the small park nearby, regular people doing regular things. It’s not Instagram-pretty, but it’s real Belgrade, and honestly that’s worth something. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be good at what it does, and it succeeds. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re actually staying somewhere rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.
