Studio Apartman Obilić

You know what caught me off guard about Studio Apartman Obilić?

You know what caught me off guard about Studio Apartman Obilić? It’s tucked away on Maršala Birjuzova street in a way that feels both central and surprisingly quiet – which honestly, in Belgrade, is kind of a miracle. I mean, you’re right in Stari Grad, so you’ve got that whole historic vibe going on, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that hits some of the main drags. The building itself has that solid, old Belgrade character – thick walls that actually keep the street noise out, unlike some of the newer places I’ve stayed in the city.

The studio setup is what really works here, though. It’s not trying to be fancy in that Instagram way, but everything just… makes sense? The kitchen area has proper counter space (you’d be surprised how many Belgrade apartments skimp on this), and the bathroom actually has decent water pressure, which – let’s be real – can be hit or miss in this part of town. I loved that they didn’t go overboard with the decor but still managed to make it feel warm rather than sterile. There’s this nice balance of having enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re rattling around in an empty box. The bed’s comfortable too, and the windows open properly, which is perfect for those Belgrade summer nights when you want the breeze but don’t want to run the AC all night.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re walking distance from Skadarlija – maybe ten minutes if you’re strolling – but you’re also close enough to the Danube that you can actually get down to the water without it being a whole expedition. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not just about the apartment itself (though that’s solid), it’s about how the owner clearly gets what travelers actually need. Check-in was smooth, they gave me proper local recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots, and when I had a minor issue with the WiFi, they sorted it out within an hour. Plus, there’s a little market around the corner that stays open late – one of those family-run places where you can grab fresh bread and decent coffee in the morning without having to hunt around. Honestly, after staying in some of the more “centrally located” places that turn out to be tourist traps, this felt like finding a little gem that locals would actually approve of.

The owner is very responsive and polite. Very good location in the city center but still quiet. Everything needed in the apartment. Light and bed are very comfy. AC and small heater can save you from cold 😀 The biggest pros for me: it was a contactless check-in, so it was super smooth and easy. Thank you 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

What could be improved: Not the fault of the apartment, but when I arrived there was a cigarette smell in the room, and it was cold inside. The owner said that a previous guest smoked in the room which is prohibited 😱 and they tried to breeze room for the whole day, but it didn't fully help. Also the shower drain worked not good. Check-out time is pretty early - 9am.

This was a tiny but useful apartment. We booked for 1 night but I think It was enough for 2 person for a couple days. Location was great for walk around the city and using bus stations. There was a window in the bathroom, it was good for the ventilation. Furnitures new and also there was drawers, they helped a lot for get tidying.

What could be improved: When we talked with host, we agreed to enter at 1 pm. But because of the cleaning we couldn’t. Apartment was ready at 2 pm.

Small but very cosy apartment with everything we needed. It is near the heart of the city, and there are great restaurants nearby. It is located in quiet area.
Very clean, there was even an iron, WiFi was great, the bed was comfortable. The host even left us some cookies.

What could be improved: Everything was great

The kitchen was well equipped, there was storage for clothes, everything was clean and the location is very good. The communication with the host went smoothly and even though we were late for check in, she was kind about it.

What could be improved: There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom, also the toilet seat is particularly small. In the bedroom, there is a small, high window which looks down on the bed and has no curtains, making it visible by the neighbors, which is not ideal.

The location is perfect, all objects which are mandatory to visit in the city are very close (Saint Sava temple, Kalemegdan, Saint Mark temple, National Museum, Museum of Serbia), include central bus station (about 10 minutes by walking) for those who travel by bus. Those who are going to visit Museum of Yugoslavia by walking is not to far as well, about 3 km. Contact and cooperation with the owner were perfect. I strongly recommended the place.

What could be improved: Location, cooperation with the owner.
