Everyone on staff was so kind, which made the stay at such a unique spot even more enjoyable. Easily one of the most comfortable beds I’ve encountered!
What could be improved: The soap dispenser in the bathroom was… a choice. It leaks soap all over the floor. The shower, though I could hold it, was too high for comfort otherwise and I’m 157 cm. Also, don’t expect to sleep in–as breakfast starts, you will hear every word spoken in the hall.

Queen’s Astoria Design Hotel
Look, I'll be straight with you about the Queen's Astoria Design Hotel – it's one of those places that actually lives up to its name, which honestly surprised me a bit.
Look, I’ll be straight with you about the Queen’s Astoria Design Hotel – it’s one of those places that actually lives up to its name, which honestly surprised me a bit. You know how “design hotel” can sometimes just mean they threw some modern art at the walls and called it a day? Not here. The moment you walk into the lobby, there’s this really thoughtful mix of contemporary touches and – I don’t know how else to put it – sophisticated Belgrade energy. The address puts you right in Savski Venac, which if you’re not familiar with Belgrade, is basically where you want to be without the tourist trap pricing of the absolute city center.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between style and comfort. The rooms have this clean, almost minimalist thing going on, but it doesn’t feel cold or sterile like some design hotels can. Actually, the bed was ridiculously comfortable – I mean, I’m usually terrible at sleeping in hotels, but I genuinely didn’t want to get up. The bathrooms are properly modern too, with good water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re exploring Belgrade all day). One thing I appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right in the heart of things. The soundproofing is solid, which isn’t always a given in this part of the city.
Here’s what I think makes this place special though – the location is just smart. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Knez Mihailova, which is the main pedestrian zone where everything happens, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise constantly. I could easily walk to the fortress, hit up the riverside clubs in Savamala when I felt like it, or just wander around the old town without needing to figure out transport. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too – they pointed me toward this amazing little kafana that I never would have found otherwise, and gave me actual useful advice about avoiding the tourist-heavy restaurants. With a 7.7 rating, it’s clearly not perfect for everyone, and honestly, if you’re looking for over-the-top luxury or traditional Serbian charm, this might not be your vibe. But if you want a really solid, well-designed place to stay that gets the balance right between location, comfort, and style – without breaking the bank for four-star quality – the Queen’s Astoria is definitely worth considering. I’d stay there again, which for me is always the real test.

What Our Guests Say
Very kind and helpful staff.
What could be improved: Extra charge for sauna.
Interesting older hotel close to bus station as well as Old Town Belgrade. Good breakfast. Nice staff.
Very good, in artistic style, the hotel close to the center! Very helpful and nice staff.
What could be improved: The shower cabin could be better, but it was quite usable.
Hotel is furnished and decorated in 18th century style. I had a suit at an upper floor, spacious and nice furnished.
Everything meet my expectations and it was a pleasant stay. I would recommend it to other tourists.
The hotel is located close to the main bus station and a 30 min walk from the city center.
What could be improved: The bathroom door needed a small repair but ,it has been done right after my request.
Some days there are major guided tours staying in the hotel but, it was not too bad.
The rooms are spacious and the bed is quite comfortable. I was there in the summer and it was great of them to have a running AC as you walked into the room.
Staff was friendly and professional.
Breakfast was delicious.
What could be improved: Oversight on my end: dont get a room next to the elevator. You will hear it every time someone slams it shut.
Beautiful large room.
What could be improved: Not much food for breakfast, if you are late you will find almost anything.
Very good location, Breakfast on weekends until 11am Checkout at 12 noon. High customer focus. Nice and friendly staff. Good sound insulation in the room. I slept great after a walk around the city. The beds are comfortable.
What could be improved: The coffee during breakfast was not very tasty and there is no option to order a separate espresso Only from the coffee machine. But this problem is easily solved; there are many places where you can drink coffee.
Good area, kind employees, beautiful arhitecture of the rooms and hotel.
What could be improved: Big noise in the morning with cleaning other rooms, they started at 8 AM.
If you are late for breakfast you will not find much food.
The hotel was exceptionally beautiful, lobby and restaurant areas were otherworldly. The staff was very polite and informative. Breakfast was very tasty and had much variety. The room was cozy.
What could be improved: Room cleanliness can be improved, there was hair on the bed sheets and in the toilet. The air conditioner did not work in one of our rooms and it was a bit cold. The shower could use some maintenance, the water heat regulator was stuck on semi-cold water. The bar is closed outside of breakfast hours, we had a business meeting in the lobby and we could not order anything to drink.
