Princess – free parking place in the garage

Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Belgrade, and the Princess honestly surprised me in the best way possible. You know how some hotels promise the world and deliver cardboard? This isn’t one of those. Right when you walk in, there’s this understated elegance that feels authentically Serbian rather than trying to copy some international chain aesthetic. The lobby has this warm, lived-in quality – I mean, it’s polished and professional, but it doesn’t feel like a museum.

The location on Kraljice Natalije is actually perfect if you want to experience Belgrade like locals do. You’re in Stari Grad, which means you can walk to Knez Mihailova pedestrian zone in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your door. There’s a fantastic bakery literally around the corner where I grabbed coffee every morning (the owner speaks decent English, by the way), and you’re close enough to the Danube that evening walks become this automatic thing you’ll find yourself doing. What really sold me though was the garage parking – and I know that sounds boring, but honestly, if you’ve ever tried to park in Belgrade’s old town, you’ll understand why this is basically a miracle. No circling blocks for twenty minutes, no sketchy street parking situations.

The rooms have this comfortable, uncluttered vibe that actually helps you sleep. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even though you’re in the city center. The AC works properly (not always a given in older European buildings), and there are enough outlets near the bed for your phone and laptop without having to choose between charging and having a bedside lamp. Small thing, but the bathroom products were decent quality – not luxury spa level, but way better than the generic stuff you usually get. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you have what you need, and several people spoke excellent English, which made everything smoother. Breakfast was solid too – not just continental basics, but actual local specialties mixed in with the usual offerings.

What strikes me about Princess is that it hits this sweet spot where you get genuine four-star comfort without the pretentious atmosphere or inflated prices of some Belgrade hotels. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you stay there – it’s not perfect, but the things they do well, they do really well, and the few minor issues (like the elevator being a bit slow) barely register against everything else. If you’re planning to explore Belgrade properly, this gives you a comfortable base that feels connected to the city rather than isolated from it.
