Prince Rooftop
So I stumbled across Prince Rooftop while wandering through Stari Grad, and honestly?
So I stumbled across Prince Rooftop while wandering through Stari Grad, and honestly? It’s one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some local code. The thing is, it sits right on Kneza Mihaila – which, if you know Belgrade at all, is basically the pedestrian heartbeat of the old town. I mean, you’re literally steps from all the street musicians and that endless parade of people-watching opportunities, but here’s the kicker – once you get up to your room, especially if you snag one of the higher floors, the street buzz fades into this pleasant urban hum.
The rooftop situation is actually what sold me on the place. You know how some hotels promise “rooftop views” and you end up staring at air conditioning units? Well, this isn’t that. From up there, you’re looking out over the Danube meeting the Sava, and on clear evenings – which Belgrade gets plenty of – you can see all the way to New Belgrade’s skyline. The staff up there actually knows their local beers too, which surprised me. I expected tourist-trap pricing, but it’s pretty reasonable for what you’re getting. The rooms themselves feel more boutique than chain hotel, sort of minimalist but warm, if that makes sense. Nothing fancy, but the beds are solid and the bathrooms are way better than you’d expect for a 4-star in this part of Europe.
What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole location thing – because being on Kneza Mihaila is both a blessing and a curse. During summer weekends, that street can get pretty lively until late (and by lively, I mean occasionally loud), but the windows are surprisingly good at keeping the noise manageable. Plus, the front desk folks actually seem to know the neighborhood rhythm. They’ll tell you when to expect crowds, where to grab coffee that doesn’t cost a fortune, and – this was clutch – where to park if you’re driving, because street parking around there is basically a blood sport. The whole vibe feels like they’re genuinely trying to help you navigate Belgrade rather than just checking you in and disappearing. I’ve stayed in places with higher ratings that felt way more impersonal, so that 8.7 score? It tracks. You’re paying for the location and the rooftop access, sure, but you’re also getting staff who actually seem to live in this city and want you to enjoy it too.

What Our Guests Say
Excellent location right in the heart of Belgrade. The hotel is on the top floor of building so noise is not an issue. The room was clean and tidy and the receptionist, Pamela, was very accommodating in answering my questions about Belgrade.
What could be improved: There was a curving step down on entering my room which would be easy to trip over. Also, the room would be a bit cramped for two people.
Clean, great location, fantastic staff, they were super helpful and kind.
excellent location ,right on the main pedestrian street and square. Top floor with views. Reception staff were excellen.
What could be improved: Had to walk up a flight of stairs from 8 to 9th floor, a First World problem.
We got the rooftop room, it is amazing! Small but huge balcony, the stuff are so kind! The best location!
Employees are related and very good location
