I liked the host, great apartment location, and all necessary facilities were provided. The host also arranged airport transfers at a competitive price.
What could be improved: The only downside was that the apartment wasn’t very clean, especially the bathroom.
Natalie’s Studio
Belgrade, Serbia
Natalie’s Studio
Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect from Natalie's Studio when I first climbed up to the second floor on Marsala Birjuzova – the building's got that classic Belgrade charm where the exterior doesn't give much away, but wow, was I pleasantly surprised.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Natalie’s Studio when I first climbed up to the second floor on Marsala Birjuzova – the building’s got that classic Belgrade charm where the exterior doesn’t give much away, but wow, was I pleasantly surprised. This little gem sits right in the heart of Stari Grad, and I mean literally in the thick of things. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Skadarlija (you know, that cobblestone bohemian quarter everyone raves about), and the Republic Square is close enough that you’ll hear the evening crowds if you keep your windows open, though it never felt overwhelming.
What actually struck me about this place was how Natalie – and I’m assuming that’s the owner’s name – managed to create something that feels authentically local without trying too hard. The studio itself is compact but thoughtfully arranged, and there’s this great morning light that streams in around 8 AM if you’re an early riser like me. The kitchen setup is more functional than I expected for a studio; I mean, you’re not cooking elaborate meals, but I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple breakfast without feeling cramped. The bed was surprisingly comfortable – sometimes these European studios cut corners there, but not here. I slept really well, even on Friday night when the street below had some late-night energy (which honestly added to the whole Belgrade experience rather than detracting from it).
Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location puts you in actual Belgrade life, not tourist Belgrade. There’s this little bakery literally around the corner on Birjuzova where locals grab their morning burek, and the lady there started recognizing me by day three. The nearest tram stop is maybe two blocks away, so getting to New Belgrade or Zemun is totally doable without dealing with parking headaches. Speaking of parking, if you’re driving, good luck – but that’s Belgrade for you, and honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. The building itself has that slightly worn Eastern European elegance that I find charming; the hallways are a bit dim and the elevator’s old-school, but it all adds character. Check-in was smooth – got clear instructions beforehand and the key pickup was straightforward. With a 9.2 rating, I can see why people keep coming back here. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it gives you a genuine taste of living in Belgrade’s old town, and that’s worth way more than some sterile hotel experience.

What Our Guests Say
Excellent property. Centrally located. The kitchen has all the basic amenities, although we didn’t use the kitchen. Comfy beds. 5-minute walk to the main street (Knez Mihailova Street) & Republic Square. Very friendly host & excellent communication. The host also provides competitively priced pick-up and drop cab service to the airport, which we used. Highly recommended property.
Very friendly welcome, very close to cafes and central area
