Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address on Triše Kaclerovića in Voždovac, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The name sounds fancy enough, but you know how Belgrade can surprise you. This modern one-bedroom apartment though? It’s actually one of those rare finds that makes you want to keep it secret from other travelers.

The thing that got me right away was how genuinely modern everything felt – and I mean that in the best way possible, not the sterile kind of modern that makes you feel like you’re sleeping in an IKEA showroom. The space has this clean, minimalist vibe but with enough personality that you don’t feel like you’re crashing in someone’s dentist office. The bedroom’s got proper blackout curtains (thank god, because Belgrade summer mornings are bright), and honestly, the bed was comfortable enough that I actually overslept twice. The kitchen’s small but functional – I made coffee every morning and even managed to cook a decent meal with groceries from the nearby Maxi market. What really impressed me was the attention to details you don’t always get in apartment rentals: good water pressure in the shower, reliable wifi that actually worked for video calls, and – this might sound weird – but the lighting was just right. You know how some places have those harsh overhead lights that make you look like you’re in an interrogation room? Not here.

Voždovac gets overlooked by a lot of tourists who stick to Stari Grad or Savamala, but that’s honestly their loss. You’re close enough to everything that matters – maybe 15 minutes to Republic Square by bus or taxi – but far enough from the party chaos that you can actually sleep at night. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel that I really appreciated; there’s a great bakery about a five-minute walk away where the burek is legitimately good (the cheese one, specifically), and the local kafana scene is way more authentic than what you’ll find in the touristy areas. I mean, these are places where people actually go to argue about football and drink coffee for three hours, not pose for Instagram photos. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtfully done and comfortable. That 9.2 rating makes sense too; I can’t think of much to complain about, honestly. Maybe the only thing is that the building’s entrance is a bit unmarked, so finding it the first time took me an extra few minutes of wandering around looking confused. But once you know where it is, you’re set. If you’re the type who wants to experience Belgrade like someone who actually lives there, rather than just hitting the major tourist spots, this place gets it right.
