Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Belgrade, but Krunska 54 actually surprised me – and I don’t say that lightly about boutique hotels anymore. It’s tucked right into Vračar, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that feels properly Belgrade without being touristy. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Svetog Save temple (you can’t miss it, obviously), but more importantly, you’re in this quiet residential pocket where actual Belgraders live and work.

The building itself has that pre-war charm that developers keep trying to recreate but usually mess up. Here though, they kept the original bones – high ceilings, proper hardwood floors that creak just enough to feel authentic, not annoying. What really got me was the attention to small stuff… I mean, the coffee in the room was actually decent, not that powdered nonsense most places give you. The bathroom had this rainfall shower that worked properly – you know how often hotel showers are either scalding or freezing? None of that here. And honestly, the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into quicksand, which becomes more important as you get older, trust me.

The staff genuinely knows the area, which is rarer than it should be. When I asked about dinner spots, they didn’t just rattle off tourist traps – they sent me to this tiny kafana two streets over where I ended up having the best ćevapi of my trip. That’s the kind of local knowledge that actually matters. Parking can be a bit tricky on Krunska itself (it’s a narrow street), but there’s a garage about two blocks away, and they’ll sort that out for you at check-in. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which I loved, but if you’re looking for wild nightlife right outside your door, you’ll want to hop in a taxi to Skadarlija or the bohemian quarter. Though honestly, after walking around Belgrade all day, I was happy to have somewhere peaceful to crash. The 9.9 rating isn’t inflated – it’s one of those places where someone clearly cared about getting the details right instead of just throwing together another generic boutique property.
