The location is actually pretty smart if you’re looking to stay somewhere that feels authentically Belgrade without being right in the tourist crush of Stari Grad. You’re close enough to hop on public transport into the city center (there’s a decent bus connection just a few minutes’ walk away), but far enough out that you’ll see how locals actually live and eat.
The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s comfortable without trying too hard to impress, which I mean, sometimes that’s exactly what you want after a long day of walking around Belgrade’s hills. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect cutting-edge design or anything. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to some of the places closer to Knez Mihailova where you’ve got street noise until the early hours. The staff actually seems to care about what they’re doing, not just going through the motions – they’ll give you real recommendations for restaurants in the neighborhood, not just the obvious tourist spots. Speaking of food, there are some genuinely good local places within walking distance that most visitors never find because they’re stuck eating near the main pedestrian zone.
The 7.4 rating tells you something important – it’s solid, dependable, but not trying to be something it isn’t. I’ve stayed at places with higher ratings that felt completely soulless, so honestly, sometimes these mid-range spots end up being more memorable. Čukarica itself is one of those Belgrade neighborhoods that gives you a better sense of the city’s rhythm. You’ll see families out for evening walks, neighborhood kafanas where the same guys probably sit at the same tables every day, little bakeries that smell incredible in the morning. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re actually experiencing a place rather than just checking boxes, Hotel Sumadija works as a good base. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’ll give you a comfortable place to sleep while you explore a side of Belgrade that most people rush past on their way to the fortress and the bohemian quarter.

The location is perfect as it offers plenty of transportation options to get wherever you need to go
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was very good.
I liked the location for the triathlon event that we participated in. Free parking was good and close to hotel,since the area is pretty busy. The room was renovated,bed was comfortable. Receptionists were friendly and the young waiter for breakfast was very nice and hard working,even made us coffee because the barista was late for work.
What could be improved: The room had a strange smell. The fridge was super loud and closed in the cupboard that warned up. The wifi was unstable or not available at all in the room. The breakfast was a really bad-filter coffee was tasteless,bread was cold and there were only lepinja (could have at least a toast bread and the toaster to warm them),eggs were cold. When there was a big group,only one waiter was working and despite trying he was not able to handle everything alone and nobody came to help him. We waited very long time that the food was restocked and there was no clean cutlery.
It was friendly that they made for us breakfast box on the day of event although burritos are not the bread and jam that we asked for.

It is easily reachable from the main road, we have got a large upgraded room, everything was new. Bonus - the private parking.
What could be improved: There are still ongoing renovation works around. No ventilation for the mini bar fridge, no luggage rack in the room.
Staff was nice and helpful. Hotel restaurant was great, very good interior. Food was very good.

You have access to all transport in the city center. The hotel is quiet and easy to find. The parking is spacious. Breakfast was good but they can diversify. Reception staff was nice and helpful. Nice hotel.
What could be improved: We stayed 3 nights and they did not clean the room once, we had clean towels because there was a trolley on the hallway with clean towels and we took clean ones from there. This can be improved as I think the room should be cleaned daily.
