The place is big and has everything, was clean as well, some of the furniture might look outdated but it's pretty solid.
What could be improved: The windows don't offer good soundproofing so you might hear some traffic from outside.

Home Away From Home
Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first walked up to Home Away From Home on Sarajevska Street – the name sounds kind of generic, you know?
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Home Away From Home on Sarajevska Street – the name sounds kind of generic, you know? But the moment I stepped inside, I got it. This place actually lives up to its name in a way that surprised me. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling that’s somehow both elegant and unpretentious, like staying at your well-traveled aunt’s apartment if she happened to have impeccable taste and a 4-star budget.
The location is what really sold me though. You’re right in Savski Venac, which means you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Belgrade without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips. I mean, you’re close enough to hear the energy of the city but far enough from Knez Mihailova that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM. The staff – and this is important – they actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about finding a good kafana that wasn’t touristy, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a generic brochure. He drew me a little map to this place three blocks away where locals go, complete with a warning about their rakija being stronger than most. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you can’t fake.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to feel boutique-y without being pretentious about it. The rooms are thoughtfully designed – good lighting for actually reading, enough outlets in the right places, and the beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses, and this one passed the test). The bathrooms are modern but not sterile, with decent water pressure and toiletries that don’t smell like generic hotel soap. You know what’s a nice touch? They have blackout curtains that actually work – something you don’t realize you need until you’re trying to sleep past sunrise in a city that gets going early. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you add up all these little details that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. Sure, it’s not the fanciest place in Belgrade, but it’s the kind of spot where you settle in and think, “Yeah, I could stay here a while.”

What Our Guests Say
So cute cozy place. It made with love. Very comfortable apartment. A lot of transport. There is a big shop (Galerija) near, and a lot of small shops, cafe and bakery (literally next door). 5min to skyline.
What could be improved: Hard to close blinds.
