You know what caught me off guard about Hedonic Studio? The name made me expect some flashy, over-the-top place, but it’s actually refreshingly understated when you walk in. Tucked away on Džona Kenedija street in New Belgrade, it sits in this interesting pocket where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist chaos around Knez Mihailova to actually get some sleep.

The studio setup is honestly perfect for how people actually travel these days – I mean, who needs a separate sitting area when you’ve got a well-designed space that flows naturally? The rooms feel bigger than they are (and they’re not small to begin with), with these floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of light during the day. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound – you’d think being in New Belgrade means dealing with traffic noise, but the windows actually do their job. The neighborhood itself has this cool mix of communist-era architecture and newer developments, so you’re getting a real slice of how Belgrade has evolved over the decades.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: parking isn’t a nightmare like it is in the old town, and you’re literally a ten-minute walk from Delta City if you need to grab anything (or hit up that massive Maxi supermarket). The tram connections are solid too – you can get to Republic Square in maybe 20 minutes without dealing with Belgrade’s… let’s call it “creative” taxi pricing. The staff actually knows the area well, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often hotel people just shrug when you ask about getting around. Check-in was smooth, none of that “your room isn’t ready at 4 PM” nonsense I’ve dealt with at other places in the city. The 8.6 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Belgrade, but everything works the way it should, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses, trust me). If you’re the type who wants to experience Belgrade without staying in some generic international chain or a hostel where you can’t escape other travelers, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.
