Enjoy B-52 Crown

Honestly, when I first walked up to the Enjoy B-52 Crown on Bulevar kralja Aleksandra, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, the name alone had me wondering what I’d gotten myself into. The location is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Belgrade rather than just visiting it. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Slavija Square, which means you can stumble back from dinner without dealing with taxi drivers who pretend they don’t know where you’re going. The boulevard itself has this great energy – busy enough that there’s always something happening, but the hotel’s set back just enough that you’re not hearing every tram that goes by at 6 AM. I loved how you could walk out the front door and grab coffee at one of those tiny local spots where the barista actually remembers your order by day three, or head the other direction toward the Temple of Saint Sava when you need that Instagram shot (we all do it, no judgment).

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about making sure you had a good time in their city. The guy at reception – I think his name was Marko – didn’t just give me a map and send me on my way. He actually sat down and marked up specific streets where I’d find the best ćevapi, warned me which clubs were tourist traps, and even called ahead to reserve a table at this incredible restaurant in Skadarlija that I never would have found on my own. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable, nothing revolutionary but everything works properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). I particularly appreciated that the AC actually cooled the room down and the shower had decent water pressure – small things that matter when you’ve been walking around Belgrade all day in July heat.

The breakfast spread was solid too, with enough local options that you’re not stuck with generic hotel pastries, though I’ll be honest, after the first morning I was usually too tempted by the bakery down the street to stick around. There’s something about Serbian breakfast pastries that just hits different, you know? Plus, the hotel’s restaurant serves dinner that’s actually worth eating, which saved me more than once when I was too tired to venture out but still wanted something better than room service pizza. If you’re looking for a place that gives you easy access to both the touristy stuff and the real Belgrade experience, and you don’t need a rooftop pool or marble everything, the B-52 Crown is honestly a great choice. Just don’t expect to figure out the name – I asked three different people and got three different explanations.
