Cozy Belgrade Waterfront studio with Murphy bed

You know what struck me first about this little studio on Bulevar Vudroa Vilsona? It’s actually quiet – which honestly surprised me since you’re right in the heart of Belgrade’s newest district. I mean, the waterfront area can get pretty buzzy, especially during summer evenings when everyone’s out walking along the Sava, but once you’re inside, it feels like your own little retreat.

The Murphy bed thing might sound gimmicky, but it’s actually brilliant here. During the day, you’ve got this proper living space where you can spread out your stuff, work on your laptop, or just chill without feeling like you’re camping in a bedroom. The setup makes the studio feel way bigger than it is – and trust me, Belgrade apartments can be pretty compact. What I really appreciated was how well thought out everything is: the kitchenette has everything you need (there’s even a decent coffee maker, which matters when you’re dealing with Belgrade’s cafe culture expectations), and the bathroom is surprisingly spacious. Sometimes these waterfront places feel thrown together to capitalize on the location, but this one feels like someone actually lives here and knows what works.

The location is pretty sweet if you want to be near the action but not drowning in it. You’re a quick walk to Savamala – that’s where all the cool bars and restaurants are – but you can also just wander down to the riverbank when you need some air. The Brankov bridge is right there, so getting to the old town (Stari Grad) is easy, and honestly, the walk across the bridge gives you some of the best views of the fortress. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – it’s not terrible, but you might need to circle a block or two during busy times. Public transport is solid though; the bus connections are frequent and the tram line isn’t far if you’re heading toward Kalemegdan or the pedestrian zone.

I’ll be honest, the 9.6 rating seemed high when I first saw it, but after staying there… yeah, it makes sense. Everything just works the way it should, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. The host clearly knows their stuff and the whole check-in process was smooth – no awkward waiting around or confusing key situations. The space stays cool in summer (Belgrade can get pretty steamy), and there’s good natural light without being too bright in the mornings. It’s the kind of place where you can actually settle in for a few days without feeling like you’re just camping out.
