More relaxed, sort of old-world European feel, but without being touristy about it.

The apartment itself hits that sweet spot between feeling like a proper hotel and having your own space. The jacuzzi (yeah, they really lean into that name) is actually decent-sized and gets properly hot – I was half-expecting some sad little tub, but no complaints here. What really got me though was how quiet it stays, even being just twenty minutes from the city center. You can hear the occasional tram in the distance, but it’s more comforting than annoying, you know? The kitchen setup is legit too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I picked up groceries at the Maxi just down the street and actually cooked a few meals – saved a fortune and honestly, after walking around Belgrade all day, sometimes you just want to eat pasta in your pajamas.

Location-wise, you’re golden here. Zemun’s riverfront is maybe a fifteen-minute walk, and that whole area along the Danube is gorgeous – especially if you catch it around sunset. The fortress up on Gardoš Hill is right there too, though fair warning, it’s more of a hike than a stroll. For getting into central Belgrade, there’s a bus stop practically outside the door, or you can walk to the train station in Zemun and hop on – takes maybe twenty-five minutes total to get to Republic Square. Parking was surprisingly stress-free, which anyone who’s driven in Belgrade will tell you is basically a miracle. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything works properly and the details are thought through. Check-in was smooth, the Wi-Fi actually handles video calls, and the shower pressure is strong enough to wake you up in the morning. Only tiny thing I’d change? Maybe some blackout curtains – the morning light comes in pretty enthusiastic if you’re trying to sleep in after a late night in Skadarlija.
