The name makes it sound like some trendy gastropub, but it’s actually this really thoughtful four-star place tucked into Stari Grad that feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. I mean, when you’re walking down Сењанина Иве street – and honestly, good luck pronouncing that if you’re asking locals for directions – you might walk right past it because it blends into the neighborhood so naturally. That’s actually part of its charm though.

The location is pretty brilliant once you figure out the area. Stari Grad isn’t the flashy tourist center that Skadarlija is, but you’re still close enough to walk to all the main stuff without dealing with the crowds right outside your door. I loved that I could grab morning coffee from one of those tiny Serbian cafés around the corner (where the locals actually go), then be at Kalemegdan Fortress in about fifteen minutes on foot. The apartment itself has this clean, modern vibe that doesn’t try too hard – you know those places that are Instagram-pretty but uncomfortable to actually live in? This isn’t that. The furnishings feel substantial, the Wi-Fi actually works well enough for video calls, and there’s proper kitchen space if you want to hit the green market and cook something. What really impressed me was the attention to small details – good lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed, shower pressure that doesn’t make you want to cry.

Here’s the thing about Belgrade that took me a while to understand: it’s not a quiet city, especially during summer nights when everyone’s out socializing until dawn. But this particular stretch of Сењанина Иве stays relatively calm, probably because it’s more residential than commercial. I could sleep with the windows open most nights, which was perfect because Serbian summers can be brutal and you want that cross-breeze. The 9.5 rating honestly makes sense – it’s one of those places where someone clearly thought through what travelers actually need rather than just checking boxes. My only minor complaint? The building entrance is a bit tricky to find at night, and like most Belgrade addresses, the street numbering can be… creative. But once you’re settled in, you’ll appreciate being somewhere that feels authentically part of the city rather than sealed off from it.
