Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Belgrade, and ANGIE apartment honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When you’re walking down Venizelosova street in Stari Grad, you might actually walk right past it because it doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation” like some of the flashier spots. That’s sort of the point, though. This feels like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place who happens to have impeccable taste and actually knows how to make guests comfortable.

The location is… well, it’s pretty much perfect if you want to experience Belgrade like someone who lives here. You’re literally in the heart of the old town, which means you can stumble out the door and find yourself at a proper kafana within minutes, or wander over to Skadarlija when you’re feeling touristy. I mean, the Republic Square is maybe a seven-minute walk – I timed it because I’m weird like that. What I really loved though was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being so central would mean dealing with noise, but Venizelosova is one of those streets that somehow manages to stay peaceful even when the rest of Stari Grad is buzzing.

The apartment itself has this lived-in elegance that you don’t usually find in rental properties. Everything works properly (and I mean everything – the shower pressure is actually decent, the wifi doesn’t cut out when you need it most, the kitchen has real dishes instead of those flimsy tourist rental plates). Angie clearly put thought into the details that matter when you’re away from home for more than a night or two. The windows are big enough that you get proper daylight, and there’s this nice cross-breeze situation happening that kept things comfortable even during those sticky Belgrade summer evenings. Honestly, the 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward “meet me at this random corner because I can’t give you proper directions” stuff you sometimes get with apartment rentals. You know what really sealed it for me though? I could hear church bells in the morning instead of traffic, and somehow that made the whole Belgrade experience feel more authentic.
