The location is actually brilliant if you know Belgrade at all. Sure, it’s not in the old cobblestone heart of Stari Grad, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Sava riverfront – perfect for those morning runs or evening strolls that locals love. The tram connection is right there too, which honestly beats dealing with parking in the old town any day. I stayed here during tennis season (the name isn’t coincidental – you’re super close to the tennis center), and while it gets busy, the staff handled everything smoothly. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – clean lines, decent space, and those floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open, which is rarer than you’d think in newer hotels. The beds are properly firm, and I slept better than I have in some five-star places, to be honest.

What really won me over was the breakfast situation – they do this spread that includes proper Serbian pastries alongside the usual international stuff, and the coffee is actually good, not that watery hotel nonsense. The whole vibe feels like they’re trying to show off Belgrade’s modern side without forgetting where they come from. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings too; there are some great local spots within walking distance that tourists rarely find. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with historic charm – this is New Belgrade, after all – but if you want a comfortable base that’s well-connected and genuinely well-run, with staff who seem to actually care about what they’re doing, Arena Lux delivers.
