You know what struck me first about IN Hotel Beograd? It’s got this surprisingly sleek vibe for a place sitting on what’s basically a main boulevard in Novi Beograd. I mean, Arsenija Carnojevica can get pretty busy during rush hour – you’ll hear some traffic – but honestly, once you’re inside, the soundproofing does its job well enough. The lobby has this modern, almost minimalist thing going on that feels more boutique than your typical 4-star chain hotel. Check-in was smooth (though I’d avoid arriving during the afternoon rush when business travelers descend), and the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about grabbing dinner nearby.

Here’s the thing about this location that most visitors don’t realize until they’re there – you’re literally walking distance from some of Belgrade’s newer shopping and dining spots, but you’re also close enough to catch public transport into the old city center without the hassle of staying right in the thick of tourist chaos. The rooms themselves are pretty solid, honestly. Nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are modern with decent water pressure (always a gamble in Belgrade), and there’s actually enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. I stayed on the sixth floor and had a partial view of the Danube in the distance, which was a nice surprise. The breakfast spread is better than expected too – they do this local cheese and meat selection alongside the usual international options, and the coffee is actually drinkable, which isn’t always a given in hotel breakfast situations.

What really sells this place, though, is that it feels like it’s run by people who get what travelers need without overthinking it. The Wi-Fi works throughout the building, there’s parking (for a fee, but at least it exists), and the elevators are fast – small detail, but you notice when you’re hauling luggage up and down multiple times. I wouldn’t call it a destination hotel or anything dramatic like that, but for exploring Belgrade while having a reliable, comfortable base? It really works. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it delivers on the fundamentals and then some. Plus, if you’re into that whole modern Serbia experience rather than just the historic old town tourist thing, staying in Novi Beograd gives you a different perspective on how the city actually functions day to day.
