Apartment Stela
You know what struck me first about Apartment Stela?
You know what struck me first about Apartment Stela? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street in Voždovac where you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic – which, honestly, is pretty rare for Belgrade. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything that matters, but Jove Ilića feels like stepping into a neighborhood where locals actually live, not just a tourist zone.
The place itself has this understated elegance that I wasn’t expecting from the photos. The apartment is genuinely spacious (not that cramped European “cozy” you sometimes get), and whoever set it up clearly knows what travelers actually need. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen, decent water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound silly – but the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the whole space. The host, Stela, has this way of anticipating questions before you ask them. She left these little notes about which local bakery opens earliest (it’s the one two blocks down toward Bulevar Oslobođenja, if you’re wondering) and how the heating system works, which saved me from that awkward “how do I not freeze” moment most apartments give you.
What really won me over, though, was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re about a fifteen-minute ride to Slavija Square, so getting to the old town or Skadarlija for dinner is totally doable, but you’re far enough out that you’re not dealing with the weekend chaos or paying city center prices for everything. There’s this fantastic little grocery store practically next door, and the bus connections are surprisingly good – the 37 line basically becomes your best friend. I actually ended up walking to Ada Ciganlija one afternoon because the weather was perfect and it’s closer than you’d think. The only minor thing is that some ride-share drivers get a bit confused finding the exact building at first, but it’s nothing major – just give them the landmark of the school across the street and you’re golden. Honestly, with a 9.5 rating, I was half-expecting it to be too good to be true, but this is one of those rare cases where the hype is actually justified.

супер хозяин
The apartment was okay just like in the pictures, they even got a new bed.
What could be improved: Smoking is allowed in the room, the scent of tobacco is dominant. If you are not a smoker it is quite unpleasant.
Also the bed pillows were very hard, I had to buy my own pillow because it was almost impossible to sleep.
