Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Apartment Sara” on Bulevar Mihajla Pupina, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty basic, and honestly, New Belgrade can feel a bit… well, brutally modern if you’re not used to it. But man, was I wrong about this place.

The thing about Pupina Boulevard is that it’s actually perfectly positioned – you’re close enough to the Danube that you can walk down for evening strolls (and trust me, the sunsets over the water are worth it), but far enough from the tourist chaos of Stari Grad that you get to see how Belgrade actually works. The building itself has that clean, contemporary look that fits right into New Belgrade’s vibe, and parking… thank god, there’s actually decent parking around here, which anyone who’s driven in Belgrade will tell you is basically a miracle. The apartments themselves are what really surprised me though. I mean, we’re talking about spaces that feel like someone actually lives there, not just generic hotel rooms with beige everything. The kitchens are properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and a prayer – so you can actually make coffee the way you like it or grab some fresh kajmak and lepinja from the local market and have a proper breakfast. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d wrestled with a brick wall, and honestly, the whole setup just feels… relaxed, you know?

What really gets me is how quiet it is at night, especially considering you’re in the middle of a major city. New Belgrade has this weird ability to feel both urban and peaceful at the same time, and Sara’s location nails that balance. You’re maybe fifteen minutes from Republic Square if you catch the right bus, but you’re also walking distance from Delta City if you need to grab anything (though I’d recommend exploring the smaller shops first – there’s this little bakery about three blocks down that does these incredible burek that’ll ruin you for anywhere else). The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense once you stay there – it’s not trying to be fancy or impress you with marble lobbies and whatnot, it’s just really good at being exactly what it is. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the places locals go, not just the tourist traps. And here’s something I appreciated – the check-in was straightforward, no weird hidden fees or surprise charges that pop up later. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that just get the basics right and then add those little touches that make you feel like you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about whether you have a good time.
