I mean, Stari Grad is obviously the heart of Belgrade’s old town, but this particular stretch has that residential vibe where you’ll hear neighbors chatting on balconies rather than just tourist chatter.

The apartment itself is honestly impressive – and I’m usually pretty skeptical when I see ratings like 9.8 because, come on, nothing’s perfect. But the owners clearly put thought into the details that actually matter when you’re living somewhere for a few days. The kitchen has proper coffee cups (not those tiny hotel ones), the shower has decent water pressure, and there’s enough closet space that you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. The windows are solid too, which you’ll appreciate since Belgrade can get pretty lively at night – though honestly, the street noise here is more like gentle urban background hum than anything disruptive.

What really works about the location is that you’re maybe a five-minute walk from Knez Mihailova, but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic and restaurant hawkers. You can actually pop out for morning coffee at one of the local spots without fighting through crowds, then easily walk over to the fortress or down to the river when you want to do the tourist thing. The building itself has that solid, old European feel – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of place that stays cool in summer without blasting air conditioning all day. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (it’s street parking, and locals know all the tricks), but that’s pretty standard for any worthwhile neighborhood in Belgrade. I’d say if you’re arriving by car, maybe scout out the parking situation first, then unload – there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient.
