But man, was I wrong about this place. It’s tucked away in Savski Venac, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that feels properly Belgrade without all the tourist chaos. You’re still close enough to walk to Knez Mihailova when you want that energy, but far enough that you can actually sleep at night without drunk groups stumbling past your window at 3 AM.

The apartment itself – and I mean this – actually feels like someone’s home rather than a sterile hotel room. The owner clearly put thought into the details here. The kitchen has everything you’d actually need (not just a sad mini-fridge and instant coffee), and the bathroom has this surprisingly good water pressure that you don’t always get in older Belgrade buildings. What really got me was the little touches though – proper blackout curtains that actually block light, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and enough outlets near the bed so you’re not playing outlet tetris with your devices. The heating works well too, which matters more than you’d think during those damp Belgrade winters.

Here’s what I really appreciate about the location – you’re walking distance to some genuinely good local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this bakery about two blocks away where the burek is actually worth getting up early for, and you can catch the tram easily without dealing with the main tourist routes. Parking can be a bit of a dance (welcome to Belgrade, right?), but it’s not impossible if you’re patient. The building itself is quiet – I stayed there during a weekend and barely heard the neighbors, which honestly surprised me. The check-in was smooth too; none of that awkward waiting around wondering if anyone’s actually coming to meet you. One small thing – the WiFi password is ridiculously long, so maybe screenshot it when they send it to you. Trust me on that one. Overall though, with a 9.3 rating, you can see why people keep coming back here. It’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-perfect, it just works really well for what it is – a comfortable base in a city that rewards you for staying somewhere real rather than touristy.
