Belgrade Central Station 3
You know what caught me off guard about Belgrade Central Station 3?
You know what caught me off guard about Belgrade Central Station 3? The name makes it sound like some bland railway hotel, but honestly, this place has way more character than I expected. I mean, yeah, it’s right there on Sitnička street in the Savski Venac district – which, if you know Belgrade at all, puts you in this interesting spot where the old city energy meets the more practical side of things. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” but definitely whispers “I know what I’m doing.”
The location is actually pretty brilliant when you think about it. You’re close enough to walk to Knez Mihailova (Belgrade’s main pedestrian zone) without being stuck in the tourist chaos, and the Sava riverfront is just a short stroll away. I stayed here during one of those typical Belgrade summers when the city gets thick and warm, and there’s something nice about being able to duck back to a quiet street when Kalemegdan gets too crowded. The staff – and this might sound like I’m making it up, but I swear it’s true – actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees, and the front desk guy gave me legitimate restaurant recommendations, not just the usual tourist traps.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms are well-insulated (you don’t hear every car that passes), the air conditioning works without sounding like a helicopter, and – this is huge – the WiFi doesn’t give up on you when you need it most. The breakfast spread is solid without trying to be everything to everyone, though I’ll be honest, I mostly ended up grabbing coffee at the little bakery around the corner because, well, that’s just what you do in Belgrade. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but the hotel sorts it out for you, which saves the headache of figuring out Belgrade’s somewhat creative parking situation. At 8.8 rating, it definitely earns its stripes – not because it’s flashy or over-the-top, but because it gets the fundamentals right and adds just enough local flavor to remind you that you’re somewhere special. If you want to experience Belgrade like someone who actually lives there, rather than just passing through, this is your spot.

The apartment is warm and comfy, good value for the money, especially for that location, and we had a good experience with the host.
The host was very nice, and having that in mind, I am sorry I can't give a better review.
What could be improved: The property is truly near a few landmarks and the highway, but the neighborhood is very poorly lit and there were almost no people on the streets, especially at night. It didn't feel comfortable to walk around on foot, so the vicinity of the landmarks was of no use. I chose this place because it was stated that free public parking is possible on the street (which is rare for Belgrade accommodations), but it was hardly a parking lot - you just leave the car on a steep street and hope no one hits it reversing because turning around was not possible.
In the description it said the property has a garden - but it is hardly a garden, just a walk from the front gate of the yard to the door of the apartment.
Each time a door was opened, either the front door or the bathroom door, it was heard in the whole complex.
Regarding the cleanness, it was clean - but it smelled like mold. I wouldn't say that the bed was uncomfortable, just that it was too soft, and the pillows were too thin, which for me means uncomfortable, but it is just a personal opinion.
Anyway, it was not expensive, but if I had more precise information about the type of parking, the surroundings, the "garden", I would have probably chosen differently.
