ZIGZAG Belgrade Waterfront
You know what caught me off guard about ZIGZAG Belgrade Waterfront?
You know what caught me off guard about ZIGZAG Belgrade Waterfront? The name made me expect some trendy, over-the-top place, but honestly it’s just… really well done. I mean, yeah, it’s modern and sleek, but in a way that actually works. The third floor location on Hercegovačka might sound random if you don’t know Belgrade, but it’s actually perfect – you’re right in the heart of the new waterfront development without being stuck in some soulless tower.
The thing about this area is it’s completely transformed in the last few years. Where there used to be basically nothing along the Sava River, now you’ve got this whole promenade thing happening. From the hotel, you can walk down to the water in maybe three minutes, and there’s this weird mix of old Belgrade grit and shiny new cafes that somehow works. The staff here gets that – they’re not trying to pretend you’re in some isolated luxury bubble. They’ll tell you where to grab the best coffee (hint: skip the hotel lobby and walk two blocks to that little place locals actually use) or how to get to Skadarlija without getting stuck in traffic.
What really sells me on this place though is the attention to details that actually matter. The soundproofing is solid – and trust me, that’s not a given in Belgrade where construction noise starts at 7 AM and street life runs late. The internet actually works, which seems basic but you’d be surprised. Check-in was smooth, no weird deposit holds or surprise fees. The rooms feel bigger than they probably are, and there’s enough power outlets that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and your laptop. I appreciate that kind of practical thinking.
The 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated review padding either – people genuinely seem to have good experiences here. Part of it is probably that it’s still relatively new, so everything works properly and looks fresh. But I think it’s more that they’ve figured out what business travelers and tourists actually want, rather than what some consultant told them people want. You’re close enough to walk to Republic Square or the fortress if you’re feeling ambitious, but you can also just hang out by the river and watch the sunset reflect off the water. The neighborhood has that energy where locals are actually choosing to spend time there, not just passing through – always a good sign.
Look, Belgrade’s having a moment right now, and the waterfront area is kind of the epicenter of that. Staying here puts you right in the middle of it without paying those crazy European capital prices. The hotel itself delivers on what it promises – clean, comfortable, professionally run – but the location is what makes it special. You’re experiencing the city that Belgraders are excited about, not just the one in the guidebooks.

What Our Guests Say
This is my second time in ZigZag. The occasion for visiting Belgrade was not a nice one, but the ladies managing the property did their best to help and improve the overall experience.
Hereby I would like to apologize for almost forgetting to write the review and publicly convey my appreciation for being such amazing "humans" in the first place, and after that, property managers.
The apartment is first class. No need to get into details again. No negative experiences at all.
What could be improved: Nothing to complain about, really.
Very nice and cozy apartment. Top location, very nice host.
Everything is as advertised. Everything functions like a clock. No problem at reception or with the check-out. Host was extra nice and forthcoming.
All payment methods are operational including cards which is, I must say, rare situation when it comes to apartment rents in Serbia. This is greatly appreciated.
Garage spot was waiting for us, which is also a great plus.
What could be improved: Apartment is maybe, slightly, on the expensive side, compared to the other properties available in the same area. But then again, garage spot was included in the price, and it is definitely a new, extremely clean place in a safe area, 5 minutes from a huge Mall. What else could you ask for?
Visiting for a second time. Everything was perfect. Ideal location and parking is just under the building.
Simple check-in/-out, very polate, good clean, early check-in - thanks a lot!
Location, strong urban vibe, small but very comfortable appartment. Jasmina was a very professional host. World class!
What could be improved: All was great
Really lovely host, beautifully decorated apartment with everything you need. Nice location by the waterfront, way walk to the downtown area.
Ery clean and good location
What could be improved: N/A
The apartment was really perfect for a weekend stay. Jasmina is such a great host, the apartment was full of small details that make your stay comfortable and seemless: local tips, slippers, umbrellas, chocolates. On top of that, she was extremely helpful and available, she let me check in a bit earlier and check out slightly later than usually. In terms of interier and factors of the stay that were in her control, it was really 10/10. The area is really amazing, loved the promenade and all the small cafes and restaurants nearby. a supermarket is just across the street, it’s really convenient.
What could be improved: There is still some construction noise inside the building and outside, some noise from the traffic as well, but that is compensated by the location of the apartment. If you are sensitive to noise, you may consider that, but if you are not that sensitive and mostly out and about, it’s not a problem. I missed the gym. There is one close by, but it is fairly expensive (25e per day) and with a very limited number of machines.
