You know what struck me first about this place? It’s right there on Terazije – and I mean RIGHT there, like you step out the door and you’re in the absolute heart of Belgrade. If you’ve never been, Terazije is basically where everything happens in the old city center, but somehow this apartment manages to feel like a quiet retreat despite being smack in the middle of it all.

The building itself has that classic Belgrade charm – you walk through one of those grand entrances that makes you feel like you’re entering someone’s elegant home rather than a hotel. The apartment is genuinely spacious (which honestly surprised me, given the prime location), and whoever designed it actually gets how people travel. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen, outlets where you need them, and – this is going to sound small but it matters – really good water pressure in the shower. The whole place feels lived-in but polished, if that makes sense. Not sterile like some boutique places, but not trying too hard to be quirky either.

What I love about staying here is how it drops you into actual Belgrade life. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Knez Mihailova (the main pedestrian street that every tourist hits), but you’re also surrounded by the cafes and shops that locals actually use. There’s this little bakery around the corner that does these incredible burek pastries – you’ll smell them baking early in the morning. And honestly, the location means you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in Stari Grad without dealing with taxis or figuring out the bus system. The fortress is maybe a 15-minute stroll, the bohemian quarter of Skadarlija is close enough that you’ll probably wander there for dinner without really planning it.

I should mention – it does get lively outside, especially on weekends. This is central Belgrade, after all, and the energy here doesn’t really wind down until late. But the windows are solid, and if you’re the type who needs absolute silence, well, maybe don’t stay in the beating heart of one of Europe’s most vibrant cities. For everyone else, it’s part of the charm. You fall asleep to the distant hum of a city that never quite goes to bed, and you wake up to the sound of actual life happening right outside your window. The rating of 9.7 honestly doesn’t surprise me – this is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing Belgrade rather than just visiting it.
