The rooms feel more like a well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel box, with proper lighting for reading (thank god, because most places seem to think one overhead bulb is sufficient) and bathroom fixtures that don’t look like they were installed in 1987. The soundproofing is solid too, which matters when you’re in the city center. I stayed there during a particularly busy weekend and barely heard the street noise, even with the windows cracked open for fresh air. Honestly, the 9.5 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places where small things just work. The WiFi actually reaches every corner of the room, the shower has decent water pressure, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing.

Here’s what I’d tell anyone considering it: this isn’t where you go if you want a rooftop pool and a concierge in white gloves. But if you want to feel like you’re living in Belgrade rather than just passing through, it’s perfect. You can walk to Republic Square in about ten minutes, hit Kalemegdan Fortress in fifteen, and – this is key – you’re close enough to the real neighborhood spots that locals actually use. There’s a fantastic bakery just around the corner that opens early (trust me on this), and you’re positioned perfectly for exploring both the touristy bits and the grittier, more authentic parts of Stari Grad. The four-star rating feels right – it’s polished and comfortable without being stuffy. I’d definitely book it again, especially since finding a place this solid in that location, at reasonable prices, isn’t as easy as you’d think in Belgrade these days.
