Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Belgrade apartments over the years, and Top Central Apartments actually surprised me – in the best way possible. When I first walked up to 28 Pjarona De Mondezira, I’ll be honest, the building looked pretty standard from the outside. Nothing fancy, just that solid Yugoslav-era architecture you see all over Stari Grad. But once you get inside, it’s a completely different story.

The location is what really sold me, though. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of old Belgrade here – like, genuinely walkable to everything that matters. Skadarlija is maybe a five-minute stroll away (and trust me, you’ll want those late-night ćevapi runs), and getting down to Kalemegdan takes no time at all. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re so central. The street doesn’t get crazy tourist foot traffic, so you can actually sleep with the windows open during those hot summer nights when the AC is working overtime. Speaking of which – the apartments are properly equipped, not like some places where you get a tiny window unit that sounds like a helicopter.

The thing about these apartments is they feel like someone actually lives there, you know? Not that sterile hotel vibe where everything’s beige and generic. The kitchens are functional – I’m talking full-size fridges, decent stovetops, enough counter space to actually cook if you want to hit up the Zeleni Venac market and make your own breakfast. The WiFi is solid (I work remotely, so this matters), and honestly, the whole check-in process was smoother than half the hotels I’ve stayed at. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out too – they pointed me toward this little bakery around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and their burek is absolutely ridiculous. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of town, like anywhere in Stari Grad really, but they’ll sort you out with options nearby. It’s not free street parking – let’s be realistic here – but it’s manageable and way less stressful than trying to navigate some of the newer developments on the other side of the river. The 9 rating makes sense to me because it’s just… reliable? Like, no major surprises, everything works, it’s clean, and you feel settled pretty quickly. Would I stay again? Yeah, definitely. Especially if I’m coming back to Belgrade for more than just a weekend – having that kitchen and the extra space makes a huge difference when you want to live a bit more like a local and less like you’re bouncing between tourist spots.
