I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Top Central 6 Apartments on Ustanička, I wasn’t expecting much from the modest entrance. But you know what? Sometimes the best places in Belgrade hide behind unassuming facades, and this spot absolutely proves that point. The building itself feels authentically Serbian without trying too hard, and once you’re inside, you realize why this place consistently gets those 9.5 ratings.

The apartments – and I mean actual apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge – give you that rare feeling of living like a local rather than just passing through. Each unit has this thoughtful setup where everything actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in Belgrade accommodations). The kitchens are properly equipped, which means you can grab fresh produce from the Kalenic market just a few blocks away and actually cook something decent. The beds are comfortable enough that you won’t spend your first morning complaining about your back, and honestly, the Wi-Fi is better than what I have at home. What really sold me, though, was stepping out onto Ustanička street in the morning – you’re right in the heart of Vračar, which locals will tell you is where Belgrade’s intellectual crowd has always lived. It’s got this quieter, more residential vibe compared to the tourist chaos around Knez Mihailova, but you’re still only a 10-minute walk from Republic Square.

The location is actually perfect if you want to experience Belgrade beyond the standard tourist circuit. You can walk to Temple of Saint Sava (it’s impressive even if you’re not religious), and there are these little kafanas tucked into side streets where you’ll hear more Serbian than English – always a good sign. The staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood, too, which makes a difference when you need restaurant recommendations or want to know when the local shops close. I stayed during late spring when the weather was perfect for walking around, and the tree-lined streets in this area are gorgeous. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can be tricky if you’re driving – it’s city center, so that’s just reality – but the public transport connections are solid. Metro construction is happening nearby (like everywhere in Belgrade these days), but it wasn’t disruptive during my stay. This place manages to hit that sweet spot of feeling residential and peaceful while keeping you connected to everything that makes Belgrade interesting.
