Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Skerlićeva 24 – it’s just this quiet residential street in Vračar that you’d probably walk right past if you didn’t know better. But St. Sava apartment completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The thing about staying here is you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Temple of Saint Sava, which is pretty incredible when you see it lit up at night (trust me on this one). But what I actually loved most was how genuinely local the whole experience felt. You’re not in some touristy bubble – you’re on a real Belgrade street where people actually live, with that corner bakery that smells amazing every morning and the little kafana where locals hang out in the evenings. The apartment itself is beautifully done, really thoughtful touches throughout, and whoever manages it clearly knows what travelers need. The kitchen actually has proper coffee (not just instant), the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like so many places, and – this might sound silly but it matters – the shower has decent water pressure.

What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, which you don’t always expect in a city center. I mean, you’ll hear the occasional tram on Kralj Milana street, but it’s more of a gentle city hum than anything disruptive. During the day, you’re perfectly positioned to explore Vračar on foot – Kalenic Market is maybe ten minutes away if you want to see how Belgraders actually shop for food, and you can easily walk to Slavija Square or even down toward the old town if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll. The neighborhood has this lived-in feeling that a lot of hotels just can’t replicate, you know? Kids playing in the courtyards, old men playing chess at the local café, that sort of authentic daily life happening around you. And honestly, with a 9.4 rating, I was curious if it could live up to the hype – but it really does. The attention to detail shows, from how smoothly check-in went to the way they’ve furnished the place without making it feel sterile or overly designed. It’s the kind of spot where you actually want to hang out in the apartment, not just crash there between tourist activities.
